Pokémon Gold and Silver are probably the two games that I’ve played the most since Edge’s first issue in 1993. I didn’t play many portable games back then, nor did I have much interest in Pokémon. It was a game I bought for my son, and when I tried it, I really enjoyed it. Back then, it was still common to have people playing games together on the same console but in Pokémon Gold and Silver you had to trade with players who were playing on their own, separate devices in order to complete it. I found it really refreshing to be able to connect with my son, through a game, when I was in a different place.
