In 2008, interiors stylist Lucy Feagins turned her inspiration into action and launched The Design Files. As a place to highlight the best in local architecture, interiors, gardens, food and art, it has now grown into Australia’s most popular design blog and in some cases gone beyond the confines of the internet – in years past, their Open House events in Sydney and Melbourne elicited round-the-block lines.

KATHERINE SABBATH, ON A POSITIVE OUTLOOK
Once a schoolteacher by day, home baker – with a huge Instagram following – by night, Katherine Sabbath gave up her regular pay cheque in 2015 to become a cake creative. Now the self-taught dessert superstar hosts demonstrations around Australia, has her own cookbook and introduced the world to ‘Unicorn chocolate’ (look it up).
