I THINK I’M HAPPIEST WHEN I’M BUSY. I’m letting go of the idea that there’s this big holiday coming up, that there’ll be a big, mystical five weeks off because that’s not what my life is like. There’ll always be one-offs popping up, so it’s making me appreciate a day off more, to have a lot of little breaks rather than big chunks of time off.

STAND-UP REQUIRES SURVIVAL INSTINCT. Having to do it over and over and learning how to cope with completely unexpected situations that you have no control over has taught me the most. I might be in a terrible mood but if I’ve got a gig, I still have to go out there and tell jokes. It was a good thing to learn how to do.

WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT YOUR INSECURITIES, YOU OWN THEM. I say all my worst things about myself publicly. So, what else is anyone going to come at me for?

TALKING ABOUT WOMEN IN COMEDY GETS REALLY BORING. Yeah, it’s harder. Yeah, some people don’t think women are funny but there’s nothing I can do about that so I’d rather be as funny as I can in this body that I have. WHAT MAKES LIFE WORTH LIVING? Wine and snacks bring me joy. And sleeping, eating, friends and having work.

MY MUM GIVES ME LOTS OF GOOD ADVICE: don’t use ATMS that aren’t your bank because you get charged extra. Don’t get your hair caught in the filter in a swimming pool. Don’t get a tattoo. You are responsible for your own happiness.

I’VE NEVER BEEN SOMEONE WHO’S SEEN THE FUTURE. Generally, my goal is to be happy now, to be busy for the next month, then the rest will sort itself out. Maybe I’ll write a book next. Maybe I’ll do radio. Maybe I’ll go back to stand-up or do something completely different. So, I’m happy. I don’t have a family and stuff and I’m cool with that. I’ve had a really fun time.
