The actress on her skincare regime and exercise tips.

SPRITZ HIT

“My first reaction when I smelled Calvin Klein Women was that it has a floral quality, but an interesting combination of cedarwood and eucalyptus. I went to a school with eucalyptus trees on the grounds, so it reminds me of my childhood.” 1. Women, $100 for 50ml EDP, CALVIN KLEIN,

HAIR STAPLES

“I’m currently wearing twist braids and I work with hairstylist Vernon François; he’s passionate about afro hair. I use his braid spray to add moisture.” 2. Scalp Nourish-ment Braids and Locs Spray, $27.75, VERNON FRANÇOIS, net-a-porter.com

KITCHEN CONFIDENTIAL

“I love cooking – and Nigerian food. My favourite dishes are eba [a fried cassava dish], egusi [melonseed stew] and moi moi — it’s made with black-eyed peas and sometimes has shrimp or egg in it.“

TRAINING TIPS

“I like to exercise with my own body strength. And I love to skip — it’s so easy to travel with a jump rope. I also work with New York trainer Kirsty Godso to do high-intensity interval training fused with Pilates.”

FACE FIRST

“I keep my skincare simple: face wash, toner, natural oils, then moisturiser. Calendula oil is very soothing for my skin when it’s had a lot of sun. I intend to use sunblock, but I don’t always.”

STRESS RELIEF

“I’ve been interested in meditation for a long time, but I’ve only now started it in earnest. I do it on my own, without an app or anything.”

SKIN SAVIOURS

“I have a very dry complexion, so I use avocado oil to wipe off my makeup. I’m a Lancôme ambassador and I love the Advanced Génifique Hydrogel Melting Mask, which is great for hydrating. I travel so much so it’s vital to replenish moisture.” 3. Advanced Génifique Hydrogel Melting Mask,

$29, LANCÒME, lancome.com.au

EYE OPENER

“I’m loving Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara – it’s really black, and that’s great for me because I’m darkskinned. Mascara can be on the grey side, so the contrast isn’t as sharp against my complexion.”

LIP SERVICE

“My makeup artist, Nick Barose, taught me to apply lipstick from the middle of my mouth and work outwards – I’d been doing the opposite. It gives you more control and makes application even.”
