Green Edge Contracting – we start where others stop

-

Right now, Green Edge is Victorian based but is fielding calls from all over Australia.

This company uses the amazing versatility of the ‘ Menzi Muck’ and due to the machine’s design it can reach places that a human can’t walk. Slopes of up to 70 degrees are no problem as the Menzi pushes itself up a slope, big wheels first, then hydraulically activated claws dig into the surface and anchor the machine in place to enable it work. It looks precarious, however the machine is stable enough to reach out with its 2m boom extension and do what it has to do, even with an 850kg grapple attached.

When on flat ground or undulating terrain, the Menzi can fold down and travel on all four wheels at maximum speed of 10km an hour which makes it very fast to get from one job to another.

The way the machine works is very low impact; its two large tyres and the stabilising claws attached to the ground barely leave a mark, unlike a tracked machine that can tear up the environment. “Where a normal excavator has to cut in a flat spot to get where it has to get, or build a flat spot,” said the incredibly enthusiastic operator, “I don’t have to do that. I just clamber straight down the side of the hill or bank or whatever. I can step over drains or fences or other obstacles.”

Green Edge Contracting is a member of the Municipal Works Officers Association (MWOA) and has valued clients such as Theiss, DEPI, West Gippsland Catchment Authority (WGCMA) and Vic Parks.
