2016 sees the in­tro­duc­tion of a new Farm World Eques­trian Expo. Spon­sored by Pak­en­ham Isuzu UTE and Gipp­s­land Isuzu UTE the Expo in­cludes a broad range of eques­trian re­lated ex­hibitors, a va­ri­ety of mas­ter­classes with ad­vice from the best in the in­dus­try, as well as both dres­sage and show jump­ing com­pe­ti­tions. A ticket to Farm World in­cludes en­try to the Farm World Eques­trian Expo (ac­cess from the west­ern bound­ary of Lard­ner Park)

An ex­ten­sive show jump­ing com­pe­ti­tion fea­tures a range of classes cul­mi­nat­ing in the award­ing of the Farm World Cup. The two key show jump­ing com­pe­ti­tions, the Farm World Cup and the Mini Prix are re­spec­tively spon­sored by Pak­en­ham Pro­duce & Sad­dlery and Yar­ragon Ru­ral Sup­plies.- Satur­day & Sun­day

MASTER­CLASS PRO­GRAM (All Mas­ter­classes are lo­cated on Arena 2)

THURS­DAY

10am LONG REIN­ING demon­stra­tion by Rene Spier­ings on tech­niques to cor­rectly & safely ed­u­cate your horse in long reins.

11am RACE HORSE TO RID­ING HORSE demon­stra­tion by Off the Track ex­pert Katie Ram­say, show­cases the thor­ough­bred as a ver­sa­tile per­for­mance and plea­sure mount. In­cludes train­ing meth­ods in­volv­ing sev­eral horses at dif­fer­ent stages of their re-ed­u­ca­tion.

1pm TRAIN­ING SHOWJUMPERS demon­stra­tion by Adam Woot­ten will cover tech­niques to de­velop a suc­cess­ful showjump­ing horse in­clud­ing a va­ri­ety of ex­er­cises on horses at dif­fer­ent lev­els.

3pm RIDER HEALTH & FIT­NESS pre­sen­ta­tion by Zoe Hyde in­cludes rider ex­er­cises and nu­tri­tion pro­grams.

FRI­DAY

10am SAD­DLE FIT­TING pre­sen­ta­tion by Robert McCann pro­vid­ing ad­vice sad­dles to suit your in­di­vid­ual horse.

11am HORSE­MAN­SHIP -BODY CON­TROL demon­stra­tion by Jes­sica Old­ham, fo­cusig on ap­ply­ing her body con­trol method from ground­work to rid­ing, gain­ing horse and rider con­fi­dence and in­creas­ing the bond with your horse.

1.30pm THE TRAIN­ING SCALE SIM­PLI­FIED pre­sen­ta­tion by Ni­cole Magof­fin on how to cor­rectly fol­low the Ger­man Train­ing Scale. How to cor­rectly iden­tify your horse’s strength and weak­nesses are in re­gards to the train­ing scale and putting this knowl­edge into ev­ery­day prac­tice.

3pm GROW­ING SUS­TAIN­ABLE PAS­TURES FOR HORSES pre­sen­ta­tion by Si­mon Hunt from Stephen Pas­ture Seeds on pas­ture es­tab­lish­ment and on­go­ing main­te­nance (ie. weed, in­sect and fer­til­izer and graz­ing man­age­ment).

SATUR­DAY

10am MOUNTED GAMES demon­stra­tion by Mounted Games Vic­to­ria. Mounted Games are a se­ries of fast races per­formed on horse­back. Riders re­quire a high de­gree of ath­letic abil­ity, good rid­ing skills, hand-to-eye co­or­di­na­tion, de­ter­mi­na­tion and a com­pet­i­tive team spirit.

11am FOUR TO THE FLOOR HORSE­MAN­SHIP demon­stra­tion by Dan Ma­honey. Dan will high­light how to get con­trol of your horse’s feet with the goal of im­prov­ing com­mu­ni­ca­tion be­tween you and your horse. The pro­gram fo­cuses on safety with the key prin­ci­ples be­ing to make the wrong ac­tions dif­fi­cult and the right ac­tions easy.

12noon DEN­TISTRY AND LAMINI­TIS MAN­AGE­MENT pre­sen­ta­tion by Amanda Weller. Amanda is an equine vet­eri­nar­ian and horse den­tist with ex­pe­ri­ence in treat­ing horses from all dis­ci­plines and ages. The pre­sen­ta­tion will cover the im­por­tance of pre­ven­ta­tive den­tistry as well as pre­vent­ing and manag­ing the com­mon con­di­tion of lamini­tis.

2pm HORSE CARE pre­sen­ta­tion by An­gela Lea from Horse Fix. An­gela, an equine body and Bowen ther­a­pist will present on how you can as­sess and care for horses us­ing a DIY horse owner’s body ther­apy and holis­tic tool box.

Long rein­ing is a valu­able tool when break­ing a horse, train­ing per­for­mance horses, as well as for re­hab or fit­ness work.
