KEEP P IT ON TRACKTRACK…
BikeTrac (www.biketrac.co.uk) has been operating its tracker system since 2009, and the firm reckons its kit offers an extra layer of protection against the latest thieving tactics. The firm’s Luke Plummer told us why.
“We firmly believe that a tracking device is more essential now than ever, due to the increasingly aggressive tactics that thieves are now using. We’re seeing much more brazen thefts, and as such, we’d urge caution over personal intervention on the whole.
“The beauty of tracking products is the ability to step back and not endanger yourself. Our statistics alone show a very high chance of seeing a stolen bike again when equipped with a tracking device – currently at 92 per cent. Even under extreme circumstances, like aggravated theft, we’ve proven that tracking works – earlier this year we recovered a Panigale after the rider was bundled off by thieves while out riding. But we then picked up the bike 20 minutes later.”
