RELATIONSHIP ADVICE!

- Jads A Ashbrook

Hi, I wanted to give you an update, and say I really appreciated your advice. I honestly did listen, even though with what I’ve finally bought, it might appear that I didn’t! I decided I wanted something that sounded awesome, so my choices ended up as being a V-Twin, a V4 or a Big Bang R1. Now the current R1 is my dream, but they’re still 12k plus, so I looked at the older 12 plate model and ended up missing out on a few, sometimes by mere hours. I even found a bargain RC8R which got sold over the phone while I was stood next to it.

By this point I was getting fed up, Panigales and RSV4s were out of my price range. Then in January I spotted a 2008 RC8 one owner bike with 10,500 miles on and FSH, for sale at Redline KTM for £5,000. I figured this would keep me happy until I can afford some more modern tackle. A jester exhaust later, and she finally sounds proper too. All updates have been done and I’ve switched to the progressive throttle to smooth out the delivery.

In the last month I’ve taken her to the Northwest 200 and spent five days in the Isle of Man spanking her on the Mountain. So thank you again, I promise that I listened. It’s just going to take a bit longer to get there!
