I ’ve never been one to have anything standard with a vehicle, whether it’ s a car or bike– I always liked to be different. I’ ve been called mad on many occasions, but these aren’t just bolt- onsfromHalfords. Ibought the Honda back in 2012 and it was standard with an aftermarket pipe. It wasn’t agreat sound though so Ihad the CAT removed. My first purchase was the Arrow system which solved that issue. It also allowed the motor to breathe abit better ,so that provided a welcome boost of power. Next up came the Dynojet PCV and Auto Tu ne, to ensure good fuel ling and a little more oo mph. I removed the flapper valve and fitted aK & N filter to sort the air flow restrictions. Another upside to this modi snow I have a gorgeous roar of an induction when the motor’s opened up, which is a huge bonus. On the handling front, I installed an Ohlins rear shock as I found the standard setup toohard. At the frontend I upgraded to Matris cartridges, what which is my brother had fitted in his SP2 andhighly recommended them. I’ve always been apprehensive of the feel from the front end, but these units gave me loads of confidence and I’m glad to have fitted them. The brakes were up rated with the addition of more recent Blade calipers, SBS brake pads, braided lines and a master cylinder to match the clutch master cylinder. Cosmetically speaking, Igot abit carried away with carbon fibre, fitting it wherever possible. abit Ialso went mad on fitting titanium bolts to save weight. evenmore Idid have aluminium bolts everyw here for non-stress bearing fixtures but found that after awhile the finishde grades and they’re not very durable. To sum it all up, yes I have spent alot of money on enhancing ride butit’sall my about individuality and confidence when you’re riding. I’m no G Prider but we all we’re out fantasize when riding those twisties…
