It was a decent bike to ride. In isolation it made much more sense, but when compared to the L7 it came across as a bit lardy and gutless down the straights. The suspension could have done with some fettling, but it still got round corners okay. There’s no tech, which is a shame because it would make this bike a lot better. That, and having some decent brakes. They weren’t the best.
GSX-R1000R L7
I know this bike well, as it’s the basis of what I race for Suzuki in the BSB championship. Even though it’s not got the legs of my superbike, that doesn’t make it slow. It’s a weapon and I’d argue it’s the best production sportsbike on the market. It handles well, drives a treat out of corners and packs a good package of rider aids you can really trust in. Looks awesome too.
