SPADA MERINO WOOL BASE LAYERS

Getting cold is up there with being punched in the face; it’s just not nice. Thankfully, it’s an issue that can be marginalised if you’re wearing the right kit, and that’s where Spada’s merino wool base layers step into the equation. I got this duo of garments (top and trousers sold separately) at the beginning of autumn and they’ve been keeping me toasty ever since.

Aside from the warmth benefits, you can hardly tell you’re wearing them as the kit’s not scratchy or abrasive against your skin. It’s also thin enough to go under any kit, including one piece suits, and I particular like the top’s zip-up collar, which is a godsend in harsh riding conditions. They’re generously sized and considerately shaped, so you can keep your love handles hidden from sight. And for the lucky lady in your life, they also do a female specific cut. A great piece of clobber that I wouldn’t ride without at this time of year.
