LUCKY SOD!

-

I am a lucky sod and I know it. I'm 56 and semi-retired. My son is a regular top 3 finisher on a ZX10R in a competitive race series. My wife accepts my complete and total passion for everything bikes. I have a good group of like-minded friends who all run fast naked or sportsbikes.

I'm off to the Picos on a bike trip soon with friends. Even the dog does as he's told and never shits in the garden (or house). But best of all, these little beauties are in my opinion, THE best bikes with THE best engines on the planet and are owned by this lucky sod. I just don't fit the current R1 and this bike is probably the all-day comfiest race bike out there. It's the last of the previous generation R1 (2014) and a fairly standard bike, but with HM quickshifter and Akrapovic. She has only done just over 3k miles in five years and only gets taken out when I'm really in the mood. The MT10 is so comfy, so much fun, so fast and so good that I really don't need anything else, but then again, I'm a fella! This MT10 has an Akrapovic with decat, Woolich tuned to the Akra and has the Woolich shifter/ down blipper and it sounds as good as it goes. Rossi would be proud. Being a lucky sod, you will probably all be jealous and won't let me have one of your Fast Bikes hoodies, but love the mag, been reading it religiously since the 90s and seriously hope that you keep up the good work for us sportsbike fans and don't delve into the depths of depravity that is the Adventure sector (unlike your oh-so-righteous competitors). FB: We aren’t jealous, we love seeing you lot with a smile on your face… mind you, with them two, how can you not? Anyways, we aren’t giving you a hoodie, but you have bagged yourself some free gloves! Enjoy!
