You might have read about some of our escapades over in Thailand after the Macau GP in my column last month. Well, that trip finished up a lot less exciting than it began. I decided to get some dental work done whilst I was over there as I’ve had a problem with one of my teeth since the TT, and it’s dirt cheap over there compared to the UK. Anyway, I thought it would be a quick in and out jobby, but as it turned out I needed a root canal doing so I spent four hours with my gob wide open whilst a little old lady was drilling and hacksawing my tooth – anyone who’s ever had one done will know what it’s like, it was a horrific experience. You’ll be pleased to know that I managed to finish off my trip with a few beers in an Irish bar with the lads, though.

I got home a few weeks ago, and I arrived to mass flooding around my house, which was a bit of a pain. Someone had been doing some work around the Johnson residence and had blocked up a soak-away. The road had to be closed and I could barely get into my drive, which is the last thing you need after a long-haul flight.

Anyway, I’ve been busy since I’ve been home. A few of my mates did one of them charity boxing matches down at the local village hall, so went along to that. Well, that’s if you can call it boxing. It certainly wasn’t a show of athleticism and stamina, but it was really exciting and all for a good cause. The poor lads could barely stand up after a minute or so, so they only made it to the end of round two before my mate had to call a stop to it because he was that exhausted.

And as far as top nights go, I was down at Triumph last week for the new Tiger 900 launch. There were loads of people there and everyone seemed dead excited about it, especially when some nutter launched one off a massive ramp. I don’t know how far he jumped, but he cleared a Range Rover that was parked up, so fair play to him, and the bike!

I’ve been watching a documentary, now I’m home, about the vegans and how healthy they reckon it is, so I thought I’d give it a try. It’s been going alright, but I did pop to the butchers on Sunday to buy some bacon and sausages – I just fancied some pigs in blankets, but it was a Sunday. Surely even the vegans need a day off? Anyway I wasn’t in the mood for butternut squash soup and kale sandwiches because I’d just had a night out with Lincolnshire’s most wanted, including Fast Bikes’ boss man Dangerous Bruce.

By the time you reading, Christmas will be done and dusted, so I’ll be working on getting a plan sorted for the upcoming season. I’ve had a strong end to the season with Ashcourts so it would be great to do something with them, but I’m not ruling anything out just yet. Hopefully, I’ll have some more news for you next month.
