Fit Cosworth Data Stream Monitor

A data stream monitor is a great way to keep an eye on what your engine is doing. We fit the latest Automotive Innovations model to a Sierra Cosworth...

If you’ve spent time and money on your Cossie engine, you’re probably going to be a little more sensitive to how well it’s running. You’ll also want plenty of warning if things aren’t quite as they should be.

You can trust the factory gauges, but they’re hardly comprehensive, or you could fit multiple gauges. But if you’re looking for a neat solution, you could try the DSM- 01 from Automotive Innovations.

The DSM- 01 takes real time data from the sensors supplying the ECU, and will show boost pressure, coolant temperature, charge temperature, throttle position, RPM, battery voltage and engine run time. It can show any four of these readings on the home screen, in either numerical or bar graph form, and these can be selected by the user simply by using the sub menus. It can also be customised to incorporate a shift light, and to give visual and audible warnings when certain limits are reached.

The unit is available to fit the three- door Sierra, Sapphire, and Escort Cosworths, and has been designed to give a factory fit look with displays available in a range of OE-style colours.

We fitted one to Mark Hales’ super-clean three- door, and we’re pleased at how easy it was to install, and how it looked at home in the Cossie’s dash.

Once the unit is installed, the parameters for your car are simply set using the two buttons on the front of the unit, to access and scroll through the set up menus.

Mark Bowkett from Auto Innovations guided us through fitting the unit. As long you take your time then DIY fitting should be a piece of cake.
