Ian Pratt

Sierra Sapphire Cosworth 2WD

-

With Cosworth prices continually rocketing, Ian is glad that he managed to bag this bargain before there were none left! It might look like an early 4x4, but it’s actually a 2WD wearing the typically fitted '90s lights. Ian says he would like to change back to ambers, but not at the price these now fairly rare parts are commanding! Ian bought the Saph with a burnt out original L6 ECU, and a shambles of wiring bodges. He’s since got stuck in, repaired all the bad stuff, and even upgraded to the more sophisticated L8 ECU which has allowed for some of the notorious MSD treatments in the form of a good map and also the comically addictive additions of launch control and anti-lag!

With the underbonnet department nearing completion, Ian’s attentions will soon be turned to an exterior freshen up, and with his partner Helen also being a Saph fan (and owning a very nicely specced 4x4) we’re sure this one is going to turn out a cracker.

Quick spec
