CAR OF THE YEAR
The votes have been counted and we have a winner…
The 2016 Car of the Year winner is announced!
Over the past few weeks you have been able to have your say on which car you thought was the best we’d featured in 2016. We narrowed the selection down to a shortlist of just 10 cars, and then it was over to you to decide who would be crowned the ‘Fast Ford Car of the Year 2016’!
Thanks to all those who headed over to our website to cast their vote for the competition, but now it’s time to find a winner!
After all the votes were counted up it was clear that we had a runaway victor – Will Fraser’s red hot Mk2 Focus RS scooped nearly half of all the votes cast with 49.8%!
Will’s FRS, ‘Scarlet’ as it is affectionately known, is a big hit in the fast Ford scene, and has deservedly built-up quite a following over the past few years. Will has stylishly and effectively upgraded every area of the Focus, from the five-pot powerhouse under the bonnet that now produces 466bhp ( soon to be even more according to Will!), to the subtly improved and colour-coded interior complete with pop- off steering wheel, through to the unique red vinyl wrap that ensures this RS really stands out from all others.
While Will’s Focus may have run away with things at the front, the battle for the remaining places was very hard fought indeed. Ramin Scobie’s stunning Sapphire Cosworth came second, just edging Mark Sargeant’s Mk3 Escort into third place to round out the top three. The remaining places were all very close indeed, but there can only be one winner, and Will’s FRS is worthy of the crown!
