NEW DRIVERS

We announce the driver line-up for the 2017 season at the Autosport International show…

-

The end of the 2016 BTCC season may still seem like a distant memory to most but it’s been nonstop for us here at Motorbase as we prepare for our 2017 campaign.

After months of hard work behind the scenes, we were delighted to announce our new title sponsorship deal with Shredded Wheat just before Christmas. As part of our new multi-year deal with the iconic breakfast brand and confirmation of our expanded threecar squad for 2017 we’re looking forward to becoming ‘cereal’ race winners next season!

Mat ‘Action’ Jackson returns for 2017 in the new-look Focus ST, this time sporting the #3 (those of you of a certain age may be able to spot the Shredded Wheat link there!) and will be joined by BTCC regular Martin Depper and BTCC rookie and former GT racer Luke Davenport, in a three car squad.

The start of the year has been all about shows for us! First up we had the pleasure of being invited to join our sponsors, IKO Plc. at the company’s annual sales conference… they even let team boss, David Bartrum, loose on the microphone unscripted! Thankfully, though, he was well behaved!

Next up was the Autosport International show at the NEC, where we finally got the chance to show off our stunning new livery and driver line-up on the Dunlop BTCC stand. It’s been great to see the reaction of the fans and public to the new livery and we’re incredibly proud to have such a well-known household brand on-board. You certainly won’t miss our cars out on track this year!

All attention now turns to preparations for our annual trip to Portimao for pre-season testing next month. We have some planned updates for the Focus and this will be our chance to try them out on track and for Martin and Luke to get to grips with the car ahead of media day in March.

After such a successful season in 2016, all of the team’s efforts are on trying to go that one better this season and to bring the fight to the manufacturers once more as we aim to win the overall BTCC title!
