MARC DIAMOND XR2 & RS TURBO

You’d be forgiven for being jealous of a man who owned a mint 80s fast Ford, but what if that man owns not one, but two!! Marc Diamond is that man! He owns this 1988 XR2 in Rosso Red which he’s owned for 8 years. It’s had a full respray, with plenty of fresh metalwork, and the engine is the original CVH, but rebuilt with mods including a Newman cam, twin 40s, and an Ashley exhaust system. While the exterior is standard, the suspension is anything but, with Leda front coilovers Gaz rear dampers, an adjustable uprated rear anti roll bar and polybushes all round.

Just as mint and just as desirable is his Series 2 RS Turbo which has been in Marc’s possession for six years. It was restored three years ago with a full respray and a bit of welding ( not as bad as the XR Marc points out!) Once again the engine has been rebuilt with some choice mods including Accralite pistons, PEC rods, and a Stage 3 head and cam. It runs 17psi on a Stage 2 T3 turbo and managed a respectable 14.3@101 at Santa Pod last year. One thing’s for sure, they’re certainly a cool pair of motors. Jealous? Us? You betcha!
