WELCOME TO THE MARCH ISSUE!

Well, 2017 is here and it already looks like it’s going to be a fantastic year for the fast Ford fan. One reason 2017 looks so promising is the arrival of the new S550 Mustang, ready for the UK in right-hand drive. Yes, early cars did start to appear on our streets in the latter part of 2016, but we reckon 2017 is going to be the year of the UK Mustang!

That’s why we’ve added a little Mustang-flavour to this issue! First up, we got our first drive behind the wheel of the whopping 5.0-litre V8 version, which you can read all about over on page 20, but I don’t think I’ll be giving too much away to let you know that we absolutely loved it!

Also, we’ve been along to what is quite possibly the biggest UK gathering of the new S550 Mustang to date at Haynes Ford in Kent. The event celebrated the collaboration between the main dealer and Steeda Autosports, with over 50 Mustangs in attendance! And to prove that it’s not all about the V8, we’ve got the stunning ‘Project Cobra’ feature car from JW Racing too. Looking absolutely gorgeous draped in sexy carbon fibre, this big turbo EcoBoost-powered ‘Stang puts out a V8-beating 425bhp! But it’s not all about the Mustang! Us Brits have long had an immensely powerful, highly tunable rear- drive monster in our ranks; the Sapphire Cosworth. And the example we’ve got in this issue from Leigh Edwards will give any Mustang a run for its money, thanks to a huge-spec 550bhp Cossie YB motor with an added 100bhp of NOS! In keeping with the ‘UK muscle’ theme we’ve got features on the Sapphire’s two Cosworth siblings; in the shape a 550bhp Sierra RS500 racer, and a truly immaculate EsCos!
