SPH EVO RANGE

The freshest and only range of modular multimedia head units to emerge from Pioneer for years, both the SPH-EVO62DAB (6.8-inch screen) and the SPH-EVO82DAB (8-inch screen) herald the future for Pioneer’s continued dominance of the in-car audio game. Perfect for the single DIN purist who can’t stow a double DIN chassis in the dash, the modular design of the SPH-EVO range makes it a floating combination of display and control unit that can be installed in separate locations, made even easier thanks to the range of universal and model-specific fitting kits that will be made available as time ticks by. Both the SPH-EVO62 and the SPH-EVO82 are Smartphone centric, so apps like Spotify, Waze and Maps are second nature and intuitive to use on screen, whether the user is Android or iOS based. A 13-band EQ with auto equaliser and auto time alignment function also ensures that sound quality is first rate – an area where Pioneer always excels with audiophile excellence. Thanks to Bluetooth Handsfree calling and Bluetooth streaming, Weblink, FLAC lossless file playback, DAB+ radios and Siri Eyes free, this brace of tablet style head units will redefine your expectations and make every car journey more straightforward and enjoyable. After all, we take for granted the things that ‘just work’

2019 AVIC RANGE

A comprehensive re-working of the AVIC range has taken place in 2019. From the AVIC-Z620BT, through the AVIC-Z720DAB, AVICZ820DAB and onto the range topping AVIC-Z920DAB – the multimedia, navigation powerhouse range is now better than ever. Drive wirelessly and driver smarter thanks to Pioneer’s Here Navigation system on all four units, with the AVIC-Z620DAB-C and the AVICZ720DAB-C both being Campervan or leisure vehicle specific with payload, weight and height data taken into effect when route planning. There’s also the usual suspects of Waze, Spotify, HDMI inputs, Dual USB interfaces and lossless audio courtesy of FLAC file acceptance. Dual camera inputs also allow for both front and rear cameras to be plumbed in, while TMC (Traffic Management Channel) lets the latest traffic information inform your navigation choice. Quite simply, if you need a head unit that does absolutely everything except make you a cuppa when you get in, the AVIC range is here to help.

LOW AND BEHOLD

The latest shallow woofers from Pioneer’s TS-Z series have already secured plaudits from numerous sources, but when combined with Pioneer’s technical know-how for enclosure design, and volumetric efficiency, you know you’re onto a winner. The TS-D10LB is the resulting space saving box with a 10-inch shallow cone woofer in place. Capable of dealing with up to 350W RMS (1300w peak) this 2ohm woofer has a frequency response from 20hz to 3.4khz and will slam considerably harder than any 10-inch woofer has a right to in such tiny confines. Bass with space – the eternal goal, right?

DEQ-S1000A

The perfect hi level speaker signal converter for RCA amps, or the ideal way to DSP your sound via your Smartphone with the Pioneer SOUND app. Such a good value unit it hurts, the DEQ-S1000A deserves more love than it’s getting, not least because it undercuts many of its rivals buy £100s of pounds. If you want to improve the sound quality of a factory stereo by adding external amplifiers, this is the perfect tool for the job.

AMP IT UP

Why not bless your new system with masses of power? The GM-D range of four channel and mono amps can help. Pick from the brace of GM-D8704 and GM-D9704 to drive a full range set of components front and back, then add some extra low end welly with one of the mono behemoths that incorporates the GM-D8701 or the GM-D9701 – all blessed with clean, energy efficient digital signals courtesy of the FD series amps. Go on, make more noise and turn it up to 11 – you know you want to.
