As part of our Mk3-Mk6 Escort special, we’ve changed the format of the regular #printmyford feature for this month. Instead of a variety of models from the Blue Oval stable, this issue we’re concentrating purely on the front-wheeldrive Mk3-Mk6 Escort models. The early rear-wheel drive Mk1-2 models and the mighty Escort Cosworth seem to steal all the limelight, but for many Blue Oval fans the Mk3-Mk6 models hold a special place in their hearts. Whether it was your first car, it was the car your parents owned, or you just loved the looks and performance of the sporty XR or RS-badged variants, the Mk3-Mk6 Escort is a much-loved but often overlooked fast Ford.
But not any more. This issue we have no fewer 99 Escorts in our aptly re-named #printmyEscort feature. To be honest, we weren’t initially planning to include so many, but after we asked you guys out there in Facebookland to post up some photos of your beloved Escorts we were simply blown away by the response. The love for the Escort is clearly as strong as it ever has been!
If you’ve wanted to see your car in the mag but it doesn’t happen to be an Escort, fear not as normal service will resume from the next issue. Normal rules apply; upload a photo of your car to our social media channels and add the hashtag #printmyford, and we’ll choose our favourites to include in the next issue. Alternatively, drop us an email with a couple of pics, a full spec list of any mods and upgrades, and a few details about your time with the car to fastford.ed@kelsey.co.uk with the subject heading ‘print my ford’ and we’ll pick our favourites for a slightly more detailed review each month too!
