HP TUNERS ECU EDITING SOFTWARE

-

HP Tuners are set to make huge waves in the tuning scene over the next few years. Already well established in Australia and America, the company has now arrived in the UK and is ready to offer the same successful portfolio of products to the European market too. They offer a range of interfaces to allow users to better understand their cars, including a couple of really cool apps that allow you to combine video footage from your phone or GoPro with the live data from the ECU to create some eye-opening video overlays.

But that’s not even the company’s main product. The MPV12 is a dongle that plugs into the OBDII port on your car and allows you to communicate with the ECU. In it’s simplest form this can just be showing live data streams, or data logging, using their free-to-download VCM Scanner software. But here’s the really cool bit, you can also download their VCM Editor software as part of the full VCM Suite, and this allows you to actually edit the ECU’s settings and remap the car. You’ll need to purchase tokens for each vehicle you remap, but there’s no limit to the number of times you can upload/edit a car. And if you’re not feeling brave enough to start remapping your own pride and joy just yet, there’s an ever-growing list of off-the-shelf maps available, or you can visit one of the specialists in the expanding HP Tuners network who can custom-tune the car for you.

To show us just what the software is capable of, the HP Tuners stand had an 828bhp V8 Mustang on display, which was custom mapped by Motorsport And Performance using HP’s systems. Interested, head to www.hptuners.com to find out more.
