50 CALLUM O’HARE

COVENTRY CITY

POSITION MIDFIELDER AGE 21 An Aston Villa playmaker, kicked by opposing defenders – remind you of anyone? Coventry loanee O’hare is more of a traditional No. 10 than Jack Grealish but he receives the same treatment. In February, the 21- year- old played on despite a ghastly gash to his forehead as the Sky Blues nicked a last- gasp win over Bolton. On his day, he is a game- changer.

49 DANNY MAYOR

PLYMOUTH ARGYLE POSITION MIDFIELDER AGE 29 Most anticipated that Mayor would step up to League One last summer, rather than rejoin his former Bury boss, Ryan Lowe, at Plymouth. Mayor hasn’t hit the same heights for Argyle playing centrally, though his dribbling is unrivalled. His role in a fine run of form since October may earn him back- to- back promotions.

48 MICHAEL IHIEKWE

ROTHERHAM UNITED POSITION DEFENDER AGE 27 The rock upon which Rotherham have been built, Ihiekwe is fast turning into a star under Paul Warne. The ex- Wolves academy lad is a throwback to the classic centre- half: dominant in the air at both ends and likely to come out with the ball in any battle on the floor. The Millers face a huge job in keeping him this summer.

47 LEE TOMLIN

CARDIFF CITY

POSITION FORWARD AGE 31 Tomlin’s Cardiff career seemed done: signed and immediately discarded, he battled depression. But he returned in July, mentally healthier and two stone lighter, to become City’s leading threat, contributing to twice as many goals as anyone else in little over half the minutes. His wonderful lob and backheeled assist stole a point from 3- 0 down at Leeds.

46 PERRY NG

CREWE ALEXANDRA

POSITION DEFENDER AGE 23 After 2018- 19 showed Ng’s versatility, this season he’s revelled in his natural role of right- back – he and Alex left- back Harry Pickering are the most creative defenders in League Two. Now Liverpool lad Ng, consistent and maturing as a captain, could skip League One and go to the Championship. He pronounces it en- jee, by the way.
