The big talking point among the
fans is whether Ben White can do it in the Premier League. Many seem to think he’ll walk into our starting XI after a brilliant loan at Leeds, but Adam Webster’s occasional wobbles have shown that the step up isn’t so simple. This season will be different to
last because we won’t lose to Bournemouth for once.
Our most underrated player is
Lewis Dunk. Many think he’s all last- ditch blocks, but the ease with which he’s switched to Potter’s more progressive brand of football shows you just how good he is.
Look out for Tariq Lamptey, whose eye- catching post- lockdown form may mean he’s already broken through. Still only a teenager, he could be set for a massive season. The opposition player I secretly
admire is Wilfried Zaha. Apart from the Crystal Palace thing, he seems like a very decent human being.
The one change I’d make would
be to officially rename the grassy knoll outside the Amex Stadium as Glenn Murray Mound.
The best Brighton social media
account is @ Albionanalytics – more statistics than the Opta Christmas party. The associated podcast is called Expected Gulls.
Our key player will be Neal Maupay. Without his 10 goals in a first Premier League season, we’d have been in serious trouble. The fans’ opinion of the gaffer
is still divided. We’ve progressed under Potter, even if some aren’t keen on playing out from the back. We’ll finish similar to last year, but a bit more comfortably, I hope.
