VIEW FROM THE STANDS

- NATALIE BROMLEY @ Natalie_ Bromley

The big talking point among the fans is whether Sean Dyche will still be in charge come September 12. We face reported interest every summer, but this is the first time he has shown discontent himself. This season will be different to last because we suddenly have expectations. We won’t be among the relegation favourites and there’s a view that we should press on in our fifth Premier League season. Our most underrated player is Ben Mee. How he continues to be overlooked for England is baffling.

The opposition player I secretly admire is Raheem Sterling, though I’m not particularly interested in keeping that admiration a secret. He is a phenomenal player but also such a positive role model and a real activist for change. The pantomime villain will be Jurgen Klopp. I think we started to see a bit of this towards the end of last season, too. The one change I’d make would be to somehow raise additional funds outside of the annual television revenue. It would be very nice if we could have a decent transfer budget just once! The best Burnley social media account is the No Nay Never Podcast (@ Nonaynever).

Did you know that we do actually play football. On the ground. That looks pretty. I’m so over the ‘ direct, physical team’ narrative. The fans’ opinion of the gaffer is that he is the heart and soul of everything. He leads, we follow! If he left, he should be replaced by anyone but Big Sam.

We’ll finish 10th.
