VIEW FROM THE STANDS

The big talking point among the fans is whether United will be able to sign the elite players we need in order to compete far better, and more consistently, with our rivals. This season will be different to last because we now play with some sort of identity and are back in the Champions League. We’ve got Bruno Fernandes from the start and the squad will take confidence from finishing last term so strongly.

I won’t be happy unless we mount some sort of title challenge and win a trophy. Silverware is a must.

The player I’d happily drive to another club is Phil Jones. I can’t believe he’s still on our books.

The opposition player is secretly admire is Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne. He’s pure quality.

The one change I’d make would be to bin the Glazers and replace them with ambitious owners. Save the date for Leeds United away. It’s been a while since we’ve gone to Elland Road! Our key player will be Bruno Fernandes. His arrival from Sporting in January completely changed United’s direction. He brings out the best in the players around him. The fans’ opinion of the gaffer is that he’s a club legend and it’s great watching him make progress as our manager. Not all fans are convinced that he’s the right man for the job, though. If he left, he should be replaced by Mauricio Pochettino. He’s the one who is always mentioned in dispatches and his style of play would suit our fans. But I don’t want to think about Ole leaving yet.

We’ll finish 3rd or 4th.
