The big talking point among the fans is if there’s any actual money to spend, or whether we’ll just have to settle for tweaks. Again.

This season will be different to

last because every waking second won’t be documented by Amazon Prime. Still: who doesn’t want to see Dele Alli feed Haribo to Eric Dier?

I won’t be happy unless we make a decision either way on Tanguy Ndombele. It’s a farce. Our most underrated player is

Ben Davies. He’s very solid and, says Mourinho, vital to our shape.

Look out for striker Troy Parrott, who has followed Harry Kane’s path by joining Millwall on loan. A January recall if he excels? The player I’d happily drive to

another club is Serge Aurier. Let’s stop pretending he isn’t anything other than a total liability.

The opposition player I secretly admire is Marcus Rashford. Great player, great bloke.

The pantomime villain will be VAR again, and rightly so. It’s awful and has turned out to be the disaster that it always threatened to be.

Save the date for a game against whoever Poch ends up taking over. That’ll be a heartbreaker.

Our key player will be Kane, as usual, but January signing Steven Bergwijn is already a hit. He could fly with a pre- season under his belt. The fans’ opinion of the gaffer

is divided. Some think he needs time, some think he shouldn’t have been given the job in the first place.

If he left, he should be replaced by Ralph Hasenhuttl. Someone will do very, very well with him. We’ll finish 4th... just.
