My favourite things with… teen jesus and the jean teasers

-

Favourite song to play live? Jaida Stephenson: The last song in our set, “Hallway in Norway”. It’s louder, faster and heavier than the rest, which means we can have a big boogie and shout out loud on stage. Favourite way to cut loose? Anna Ryan: Give us a case of watermelon Cruisers and pump “Untouched” by The Veronicas and you sure as heck know we’ll be cutting loose. Favourite childhood memory? JS: All four of us 10-year-old Teen Jesuses doing the maypole at our spring fair in year 4. What a good time. Favourite ’90s song? JS: “It Wasn’t Me” by Shaggy, because it was the soundtrack to my entire childhood. AR: “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes, purely because it was one of the only songs I had on my ipod Shuffle. It slaps hard. Neve van Boxsel: “Bombtrack” by Rage Against the Machine – it was the first song I ever learnt on drums. Scarlett Mckahey: “Debaser” by Pixies, and no, I don’t care that it’s from 1989. Favourite place to write music? JS: My garage. We’ve been jamming there since we were 15, so it’s a pretty wholesome band space. Favourite place to eat in Canberra? SM: It’s a solid tie between Sweet Bones, a super-yummy vegan café, or Grease Monkeys, the best goddamn burger shop in town. Both are definitely a must if you’re ever in Canberra! Favourite thing to collect? JS: Vintage hats that I never end up wearing. SM: I have a note page of quotes from various people on my phone. AR:

I enjoy collecting t-shirts, because there are so many cool bands to support. Favourite response to people who dismiss you based on your age? JS: OK Boomer.
