Make Use Of Polyrhythmic Modulation

-

If your sequencer can record/ send multi-lane modulation without notes and it can have different loop/step lengths per-track, you can get awesome modulation which gives a more human feel. Grab a couple of waves (analogue/digital) then send one modulation track/lane to control filter cutoff over an uneven number of steps and another track/ lane to modulate the wet/dry depth of reverb over three or seven steps (for example), until you’ve got some interesting things happening. Synths such as Roland’s JD-XA, Elektron’s Analog Keys and Korg’s Minilogue are great for this. Then sample the result, slow down, time-stretch and effect!
