Control And Process Layers

When using a digital ROMpler, try velocity switching for bringing in/out layers (playing harder/softer). Use aftertouch, the mod wheel and pedals to tweak multiple parameters over one or more layers simultaneously. Some synths allow real-time control/modulation over FX parameters per layer/part, so experiment with tweaking the reverb wet/dry mix on each layer, then control modulation/textural effects per layer, in real time (pitchshifting/ distortion/bitcrushing). Also, try modulating one layer via another for extra texture (cross-mod). Finally, experiment with mixing different waveshapes over several layers.
