BT – a life in sound
Phobos is founded on many of the sonic discoveries of composer, producer and sound designer BT (Brian Transeau) and is very much the collaborative brainchild of he and Spitfire Audio. After his collaborations with iZotope on plugins Stutter Edit and BreakTweaker, Phobos is the first instrument to capitalise on his sonic experiments with convolution synthesis. BT’s earliest work in electronic music saw him credited as one of the forefathers of electronic dance music and, for some, the godfather of trance. Through the past two decades, his work has taken him in a number of directions, with his journeys in EDM now exploring more experimental glitch techniques, whilst his scoring projects include films such as The Fast and The Furious and Monster, and video game score credits include Need For Speed: Underground.
