Stack Att ack
One particularly neat feature of SD3 is that you can create ‘stacked’ kit elements, to allow you to readily combine a number of instrument types ‘at once’. In other words, if you want to trigger multiple kicks or snares simultaneously, you can. This feature should appeal hugely to electronic producers who, of course, are familiar with this approach to drum workflow. And as you can import audio samples from outside SD3 into the program too, creating hybrid acoustic/electronic kits is a tempting option. This is a particularly powerful feature when you consider that each of the drums in SD3’s library can have a bespoke microphone solution configured, opening up sound design options yet further.
