Making quick HQ synth demos

How do I make quick, high-quality demos without using a computer but with direct audio?

-

Video content is king these days but who wants to get bogged down in hours of endless connecting, editing and setting up shots? We want to be able to quickly capture videos when the inspiration strikes. After a lot of searching, the Roland GO:Mixer turned out to be the best/cheapest solution for quickly capturing video with HQ direct audio. The mixer is powered by your Android phone or iPhone and audio is recorded direct from the mixer’s inputs (any audio source you like) and rendered to your video as it’s recorded in real time.

?? ?? Set your phone up in a position that captures your synth and hands; you can use a tripod or any other secure method. Note: you may need to buy a longer lead to run from the mixer to the phone as the provided one is quite short.

?? ?? Make sure you have adequate lighting and that there are no shadows being captured that may obscure the gear you’re shooting. Hit record on your phone’s native camera app and you’re off! Try your best to record in one take, though you can edit after using iMovie etc.

?? ?? Attach the GO:Mixer to your phone and your headphones into the monitor output. Set your monitoring level using the main volume dial. Play your synth using its loudest sound and turn it up until the peak light is on constantly, then back it off until the light goes out.

?? ?? Plug in your sound sources. Sources can be a mic (for adding acoustic instruments or a voiceover to your video, though it must be self-powered), a synth (mono or stereo), any line level source for playing a backing track (mp3 player or other stereo line source) or a guitar/bass.
