A Busy Start to the Year Although the Sydney region has been spared the fires that have recently been seen in other states, Galston Brigade has still had an active start to the year with ongoing intensive training of new recruits and a number of emergency and fire calls.

Most significan­tly during the storms at the end of January Galston Brigade attended approximat­ely 20 callouts over a 2-day period which involved assisting with the emergency response to heavy damage including damage to houses, powerlines and cars. 75th Anniversar­y Galston Brigade is turning 75 this year! At present planning is underway for an event to commemorat­e this occasion which will take place later in the year but if any past or present members would like to attend or share memorabili­a please email media@galstonrfb.org.au and we will keep in touch. Pile Burns We would like to remind members of the community that a council permit is required for anyone wishing to undertake a pile burn. Pile Burn enquiries can be directed to Hornsby Shire Council on 9847 6853.
