Glenorie Brigade is Recruiting for the Autumn intake.

If you enjoy meeting people, gaining new skills and want to make a meaningful contribution to your local community – The Rural Fire Service is for you - There is something for everyone in the RFS the largest volunteer organisation in Australia.

We need you.

Here’s what one new recruit has to say:

Why Join the Glenorie Rural Fire Brigade?

I decided to join Glenorie Brigade last year (finally – better late than never!)

I was inspired to join by my memory of the amazing work of the Brigade protecting our community during the 2002 fires and have been impressed by Glenorie Brigade’s obvious commitment to our community.

Since joining, I have found: - The Brigade genuinely welcomes new members: newcomers are made to feel included in the team; - Each of us is on the lookout for the safety of our colleagues and people in the community; commitment to personal safety is strong; - All Brigade members are committed to teaching the required skills and passing on the benefit of their knowledge and experience in a supportive way; - One is only expected to do what one feels capable and comfortable in doing; all Brigade members understand that some people are able to do more than others – that is not an issue; - In stressful times, the Brigade members are there to

support and assist as required; - Commitment to community is strong, whether it’s assisting a resident with advice about property protection, conducting a pile burn, or being at a community event, the Brigade is happy to oblige. They are also happy to travel to all parts of NSW and Australia to assist others in need; - All required personal protective clothing & equipment is

supplied.

The Brigade gets together at the Fire Station 2658 Old Northern Rd (just past the Les Shore Oval) every Saturday at 2pm and Monday night at 8pm.

Please join me in a great team which has a strong sense of commitment to the community and an interest in helping others. I encourage you to come along, check us out. You will be made to feel very welcome within the firefighting family of 40 in Glenorie, over 600 in The Hills District, 70,000 in NSW and millions worldwide.

For further information: If you would like more information, please don’t hesitate to call the station on 9652 2017, leave a message and someone will get back to you.
