Let’s get this out there be­fore I for­get… Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums, grand­moth­ers, aunts and spe­cial ladies out there – I hope you have a lovely Moth­ers Day

Ac­tu­ally, if you haven’t got any plans – we’re host­ing an­other in the Gal­ston Con­cert se­ries on Mother’s Day. This time around, Mozart is our in­spi­ra­tion – se­lec­tion from the Mar­riage of Fi­garo, Quar­tet K493 and Eine Kleine Nacht­musik fea­ture. We start at 3pm, some tick­ets will be avail­able at the door PLUS af­ter­noon tea is pro­vided! I’ll be bring­ing my mum!

By the time you’re read­ing this, all of our term 2 pro­grams will be on the go again – there’s plenty on and some­thing to ap­peal to many – check us out some­time.

I want to fin­ish this month with a trib­ute… as I write this in mid-April (to meet our dead­line), I’ve just con­ducted the fu­neral of a great bloke. Keith be­came a well-known fig­ure around Glenorie over the past decade and more. Whether you knew him through his love of his Wests Tigers, his grand­kids, cricket or his wife – if you knew him, you were lucky and you knew it.

He was one of those rare peo­ple who had a pro­found, deep faith and made sure you knew it – but did it in such a way as you didn’t feel put upon. The last time I was with him he was in con­tin­ued on page 42
