Let’s get this out there before I forget… Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums, grandmothers, aunts and special ladies out there – I hope you have a lovely Mothers Day
Actually, if you haven’t got any plans – we’re hosting another in the Galston Concert series on Mother’s Day. This time around, Mozart is our inspiration – selection from the Marriage of Figaro, Quartet K493 and Eine Kleine Nachtmusik feature. We start at 3pm, some tickets will be available at the door PLUS afternoon tea is provided! I’ll be bringing my mum!
By the time you’re reading this, all of our term 2 programs will be on the go again – there’s plenty on and something to appeal to many – check us out sometime.
I want to finish this month with a tribute… as I write this in mid-April (to meet our deadline), I’ve just conducted the funeral of a great bloke. Keith became a well-known figure around Glenorie over the past decade and more. Whether you knew him through his love of his Wests Tigers, his grandkids, cricket or his wife – if you knew him, you were lucky and you knew it.
He was one of those rare people who had a profound, deep faith and made sure you knew it – but did it in such a way as you didn’t feel put upon. The last time I was with him he was in continued on page 42
