Galston Swim Club Prepares for Nationals in Brisbane

-

Our club has grown from about 60 members this time last year to more than 120 now. Last year at Nationals we sent a team of 3 swimmers to Adelaide. This year we already have 5 swimmers qualifying for 8 events in Brisbane, and another 5 swimmers on the cusp of qualifying. These are very exciting times. We did especially well at the NSW State swimming titles in December, with many finalists, three bronze medals and Sam Loria taking Gold in the 13 year Boys 50 Freestyle, making him the quickest 13 year old in all of NSW!

To help fund our mass exodus to Brisbane in April, the club is having a raffle with some spectacular prizes, kindly donated by families of the club. First Prize is a trip in a private Jet for up to 5 people to various locations in NSW, valued at $5000. To give you an idea of what this jet is capable of, it flies from Sydney to Canberra in less than 30 minutes! Kindly donated by Flight Options. Second Prize is a $500 gift voucher for 2157 Glenorie, the gift shop at Glenorie Village. Third prize is a $250 Castle Towers Voucher, kindly purchased and donated by Hills Horticulture, a family owned business with over 30 years’ experience in horticulture, offering an extensive range of landscaping and property maintenance services. Fourth Prize is a $150 Gift Voucher for Pet Town at Castle Towers.

Tickets available at Galston Pool, 2157 Glenorie (next to Glenorie Bakery), and Pet Town Castle Towers. Also look out for the national swimmers selling them whenever they’re not training or at school!
