FROM THE MAYOR’S DESK

One of the great risks for any organisation is getting so caught up in the daily management decisions that you forget to look ahead. That’s why Hornsby Shire Council has put considerable effort into preparing the Community Strategic Plan 2018-2028, which offers a roadmap for our Shire over the coming decade. It formalises the vision of where our community would like to be in 10 years time, taking into account the challenges we are likely to encounter along the way.

This is not simply a Council document, it was created with extensive input from members of the local community who will benefit from it. In carrying out the consultation that led to this plan we repeatedly heard two strong messages from the community: the best part about living in Hornsby Shire is the natural environment and the greatest concern of residents is change caused by development. We have heard you and created a plan that will help us balance the need to create a modern community, which will provide opportunities for everybody, while retaining everything that makes our community so special.
