7th–8th Australian Plants Society Native Flower Display and Sale

Sat 10am–5pm, Sun 10am–4pm. Adelaide Showgrounds, Goodwood Rd, Wayville. (08) 8296 1849. $3. View a huge display of native flowers and buy one or more of 10,000 Australian plants, all grown in the state. There will also be free soil pH tests, expert advice and ikebana displays, as well as a range of workshops.

13th Waikerie Community Flower Show

Fri 10.30am–5pm, Sat 10am–2pm. Waikerie Institute, cnr White & McCoy Sts, Waikerie. 0488 412 903. $3. Marvel at displays of cut flowers, roses, Australian natives, orchids, pot plants, floral art and photography. Tea and coffee available.

14th–15th SA Bonsai Society Show

10am–4pm. Goodwood Community Centre, 32 Rosa St, Goodwood. 0417 849 430. $3. Take a walk around the bonsai and ikebana displays, and watch expert demonstrations of the techniques involved. Browse stalls of bonsai and pre-bonsai plants, and equipment. Fresh coffee and snacks available.

20th–29th Renmark Rose Festival

A range of venues and times. Visitor Information Centre, Murray Avenue, Renmark. 0438 865 282. Head to the festival fair (21st), browse 40+ stalls with garden gifts and products, enjoy food and entertainment, and view floral displays at the Institute (Ral Ral Ave). Visit the National Rose Collection and a lavender farm at peak blooming time, have fun at the fashion and flowers show, and choose from 20 district and town gardens to visit ($2 donation at some). renmarkroses.com
