Plant brassicas

Brassicas thrive in the cooler months. In all but the coldest parts of the country, there’s still time to plant seedlings of cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and kale (above). All are hungry feeders, so dig in plenty of compost or well-rotted manure before planting, and feed them weekly with liquid fertiliser.
