I love my SHED

These three tiny sheds have been created with little space but lots of imagination. Keep sending us your pics and stories. We’ll feature many over more coming months.

family project

Our rustic potting shed is made with recycled timber and corrugated roofing plus bits and pieces found at secondhand and tip shops. It was designed on the back of an envelope over a cuppa and built with the help of our uncle. We love that it turned out just like the original sketch and it reminds us of the good times we had building it with family. It’s now part of creating memories of gardening with our kids. It also doubles as a great bar for barbecues with family and friends! Jodie & Jace Hutchison, Torrens, ACT

tiny treasure

My shed is the old outside loo that the owner/builder used when building our home. We thought it was too precious to destroy so moved it to its new spot, painted it and put so much cement in the floor it’s not about to go anywhere. We took out the loo, and the space now houses all our gardening tools. We built a ‘nursery’ on the side wall for seedlings, and installed some reticulation. Moyra Miller, Nannup, WA

a new life

This little shed started its life as an outdoor toilet for two years while our house was undergoing major renovations and an extension. It was built by my husband, who used our old fence and other scrap materials from the building site, including a plumbed-in porcelain toilet and sink.

It had too much character to demolish when we finished our house so we removed the toilet and installed some shelves. It is now being used for my garden tools, which are getting a good workout transforming the construction site into a beautiful garden. Nikola Manos, Mile End, SA
