FEED Geelong organisers are still calculatin­g the appeal tally after hundreds of people donated the prices of their lunches on World Food Day.

Give Where You Live marketing manager Sheridan Salmon said Brown Paper Bag Day had been a success.

Schoolkids j oined staff and supporters at up to 20 employers and organisati­ons contributi­ng to the appeal and helping the city’s homeless and hungry.

The appeal total was $2643 yesterday, not including Brown Paper Bag Day earnings.

Organisers are taking bookings for a Feed Geelong community lunch on October 26. Tickets for the two-course meal of donated food at Geelong’s Christ Church Hall are $50 a head.
