Tiger wins Whitley

GEELONG and District Football League players, coaches and officials gathered at Buckley’s Entertainment Centre last week for the Whitley Medal vote count.

There were few surprises results-wise, with Thomson gun Brent Macleod capping his sensational year by winning with 32 votes. Macleod was also named captain in the team of the year.

Bell Post Hill midfielder David Holzfeind was runnerup with 26 votes, while Inverleigh’s James Huybens finished with 20.
