Display of arrogance
The Borough of Queenscliffe has been shamed by readers after a council car was photographed parking in a car park for the disabled without displaying a permit.
They should be fined personally like everyone else. If it was a speeding fine they would have to pay, why is this different? Craig McElvaney
Fine them just like anyone else who breaks the law and parks in a disabled carparking spot. Vicki Katzilieri
The fact anyone is surprised by council, politicians, police or any other figure of government or authority doing these sort of things shocks me far more. Nick Wickham
Many disabled people cannot walk far yet cannot get the disabled stickers for their car to use and struggle just carrying a few item from a shopping centre. Kathleen Perry
That would be right, don’t do as I do, but do as I say. Double standards. Ron
I have trouble with my hips, but I don’t use a sticker. Perhaps this guy is visually impaired or else illiterate. You would think he could read pictures though. Kay Rowse
I know someone who has a disabled sticker, yet she is not disabled. Her parents are deceased — she used it for them — and she still uses disabled parking. William Jax
What a joke. Either get fined or step down — simple. It’s not one rule for them and another rule for us. What a joke. Penny
Yep, typical double stan- dards. The police do things like this all the time. Donna
Typical of another organisation. Do what we say and not what we do. Michael
Refused to reveal what sanctions if any are to be imposed? The very least should be a parking fine, just like everyone else, an investigation and a determination if the staff member is fit to carry out duties. What confidence the community has in these officers is eroded even further by this behaviour. Do something about it Mr Jenner. Urbanist
