AUSTRALIAN netballers hoping to claim the Fast5 World Series title this weekend will also be playing for a spot in the Diamonds squad.

Australian coach Lisa Alexander says the Fast5 tournament will be closely scrutinised as she and fellow selectors decide on a new squad ahead of a series of internationals in early 2017.

“The quad series, the Constellation Cup, the Fast5, we are using all of them to name the team,” she said.

Alexander said the Fast5 event over two days in Melbourne, will also showcase the form players in the game.

The long-serving Australian coach has stuck with a proven formula of form ruling her selection policy since taking over the reins of the Diamonds in the wake of the 2011 world championship.
