Jack Rabbit enter into the neighbourly spirit

-

MELBOURNE’S Food and Wine Festival is bound for the Bellarine Peninsula with the region’s Jack Rabbit vineyard set to showcase.

Every morsel of food — and every wine — will be grown or crafted within 10km of Jack Rabbit vineyard, on the peninsula, and feature in a five-course degustation matched with wines.

General manager Lyndsay Sharp said the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival theme for 2017 was Let’s Celebrate and the 10K Gourmet concept was a perfect fit.

“What’s exciting is the fact that the brilliant gamut of producers here on the Bellarine has enabled us to contemplate initiating such a closed circle supply boundary event like this,” Ms Sharp said.

“It really is a true celebration of all things fresh and fabulous available here on the Bellarine Peninsula.”

Under the direction of executive chef David Warmisham, the 10K Gourmet evening will feature five courses from just caught seafood to succulent lamb, goats cheese to fresh produce.

“We look forward to welcoming patrons to enjoy a great, sustainable dining experience,” Ms Sharp said.

The 10K Gourmet will be held at Jack Rabbit Vineyard on April 7.
