Port puts time into star ruck

PORT Adelaide is yet to make a call on the extent of ruckman Patrick Ryder’s reintroduction to competition after his year-long ban.

Ryder will play his first match since September 2015 tomorrow having been picked in the Power’s first pre-season game, against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.

Teammates Charlie Dixon and Jared Polec have overcome injuries to also gain selection. Assistant coach Michael Voss said getting game time under Ryder’s belt was important as he worked to regain match fitness.
