House cleared for return

- NICK WADE VFL

INJURY-HIT Geelong draftee Timm House has made a rapid recovery from a broken collarbone and could return as early as this weekend against Richmond in the VFL.

House had surgery three weeks ago after suffering the injury against Footscray on May 20 in a collision in which he was also concussed.

The 22-year-old swingman, taken with pick 68 in last year’s draft, has battled various shoulder, groin and hip complaints over his first season on an AFL list after first catching the club’s eye at Newtown & Chilwell in the GFL.

House was training with the main group on Tuesday and only needs to pass a final test today after getting clearance from his surgeon to play in Saturday’s clash against the Tigers at Punt Road Oval.

The Cats say his recovery has been ahead of expectation.

Rookie Jack Henry is set for his comeback after having his appendix removed a month ago.

The Cats are confident the St Mary’s and Geelong Falcons product will play against the Tigers after banking training in recent weeks.

“Timm House is in consideration for this weekend,” VFL coach Shane O’Bree said.

“He’s having his fitness test (tonight). He’s got the all clear from the surgeon, he’s just got to wait and see whether he’s comfortable where he’s at. If he thinks he’s comfortable to play or right to go, he’s in.” solid
