BELLARINE BEAUTY SELLS FOR $6M

Millionaires row house sells for near record price

- TESSA HAYWARD

AN exclusive dress circle property on “millionaires row” has sold to a Melbourne couple who have realised what the Bellarine Peninsula has to offer.

The sale has made 60 Avila Rd, Curlewis, the second most expensive sale in the area after it sold in the vicinity of $5.5 million to $6 million.

RT Edgar, Point Lonsdale, agent Felix Hakins, also known as the “six million dollar man” having sold 18 Crows Nest Place, Queenscliff, for $6 million last year, said the Curlewis property sold to a Melbourne couple who were looking to make it their home.

“They realised what the Bellarine has to offer and they are moving everything down,” Mr Hakins said.

“I sold them the region as well, took them to a few good wineries and pointed out the Portarlington ferry service, which they plan to use.”

He said there were two other offers received for the former managing director of Hugo Boss Aaron Kanat’s luxurious property.

“They have now missed out but they are still looking at purchasing in the area,” he said.

Mr Hakins said a lot of the interest was from Melbourne but also Sydney and overseas in Asia and the US.

The Hamilton Marino house was designed to capture the view over Port Phillip Bay to the You Yangs and Melbourne while providing a beautiful house with high-end features including a suite of Gaggenau appliances in the kitchen and 3.2m floor-toceiling sliding doors.

The 2ha property also features a tennis court, swimming pool and private beach.

“Obviously Avila Rd has the benefit of a north-facing swimming beach and lovely views . . . this was a home which is amazing in quality inside and out,” Mr Hakins said.
