NEW DAD PATTY IS KING OF THE KIDS

- RYAN REYNOLDS – with GUS McCUBBING

+PATRICK Dangerfield is beginning to master all the duties that come with being a new dad, except for one thing — nappies.

The 27-year-old and wife Mardi welcomed son George Patrick into the world last week and the couple had their first night alone as parents on Sunday.

The Brownlow medallist admitted that dad life had been a shock to the system, but he was starting to get used to it.

“It’s been a special week. Last night was our first night, just Mards and I and little George, and it was like ‘wow, we are responsible for a young human’,” Dangerfield said.

“It’s nice to have him home and (have) our own little family.

“It was OK last night. We are getting a little bit better at parenting — and burping and all those sorts of things.

“I’ve got a bit of work to do in this space (when it comes to nap- pies). It’s something I’ve never experienced before.”

Dangerfield flew to Brisbane on Friday to join his teammates for Saturday night’s clash against the Lions. Mardi checked out of hospital on Saturday as well.

“Mards took Georgie back on Saturday, I don’t think she was driving too quick down the Surf Coast Highway,” Dangerfield said.

“Mards is doing a sensational job, I must admit.”

MEANWHILE, hundreds of youngsters filed into Simonds Stadium yesterday to bulldoze some tackle bags and have a kick of the footy with their favourite Geelong stars.

A budding media personality was unearthed within the Cats team as rebounding defender Zach Tuohy joined the Addy and K rock to interview Tom Stewart about his fractured eye socket.

With his pink Sherrin in hand, Tuohy went back and forth between Stewart and the sports journalists to ensure he recorded both the questions and answers.

While Tuohy seems to have the technical side of interviewing down pat, his line of questioning seems to reflect Brian Taylor more than Damian Barrett.

“Is it true you’ve put your good form this year down to the tutelage and mentorship of Carlton recruit Zach Tuohy?” Tuohy asked Stewart. “And do you think he is the best-looking player as well?”

In response, Stewart said Lachie Henderson had been a great influence on him.
